SUNBURY — A 65-year-old city man awaits arraignment on corruption of minor charges for kissing a teen after delivering her a hamburger.
Johnny Jackson, of 8th Street, was arrested and jailed Dec.15 after the teen’s mother called Sunbury police to her home following the incident. The victim told officers Jackson arrived at the home to ask about her mother, who was sick. Jackson returned to the home with a hamburger and when the teen took the food Jackson began to kiss her, according to police.
The girl allegedly told officers she was scared to run away because she thought Jackson would become violent. After Jackson stopped kissing the girl he turned to her and said, “thank you” before leaving, police said.
The girl then locked the door and waited for her mother to return home, police said.
Jackson was arrested and remains in Northumberland County Prison on $80,000 cash bail. Jackson will now appear before Sunbury District Judge Mike Toomey on Jan. 15 for a preliminary arraignment.
